The traditional fisherman’s shirt is part of a traditional costume worn on the coasts of the North and Baltic Seas. Today it is still widespread in northern Germany , the Netherlands and southern Denmark . The shirt is more widely used as traditional work clothing , in the harbor scene as a dazzling function (recognition function), but also as an everyday shirt. It is used in the fish processing industry , but also in the fish trade. Many shanty choirs appear in these shirts, e.g. B. also the Finkwarder Speeldeel from Hamburg-Finkenwerder .

Das traditionelle Fischerhemd gehört zu einer Tracht, die an den Küsten von Nord- und Ostsee getragen wurde. Heute ist es noch in Norddeutschland, den Niederlanden und Süddänemark verbreitet. Größere Verbreitung hat das Hemd als traditionelle Arbeitskleidung, in der Hafenszene als Blendefunktion (Erkennungsfunktion), aber auch als Alltagshemd. Es wird in der fischverarbeitenden Industrie, aber auch im Fischhandel getragen. Viele Shanty-Chöre treten in diesen Hemden auf, z. B. auch die Finkwarder Speeldeel aus Hamburg-Finkenwerder.
